Wango-yaki is a fired ceramic craft made with petalite as a raw material, known for its excellent heat resistance. Combining the qualities of both pottery and porcelain, it is classified as semi-porcelain. Wango-yaki is a representative local craft of Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, and was officially recognized as a traditional craft on January 12, 1979 (Showa 54).

These teacups are handmade with dignified, natural forms. The surface textures resemble traces shaped by wind and sand, while the rich earthy tones feel rugged and authentic, reflecting a strong Japanese tea ceremony aesthetic. Various glaze styles—including Gohonte, Brushwood, and Traditional Glaze—are used to showcase the craftsman’s skill.
